The Process

Below is a detailed explanation of what you can expect when you purchase our curbing.

1. The Estimate: We will come out to your house, provide you with an estimate and show you our samples. You will have an opportunity to choose your curb style and colors, and do a walk around your yard so that we can clearly mark where you would like your curbing installed. We will then schedule a day to install your curb.

2. Ground Prep: On the day of installation, we will first cut and remove the sod where your curb will be laid. If needed, we will add sand and compact it. This will ensure that we have a solid foundation on which to lay the curb. Once it is level, we are ready to extrude.

3. Extrusion: We mix our own concrete on site in order to ensure that it is of highest quality and also so that we can regulate it’s color and moisture content. We will ensure that this area is protected while we mix the concrete. Once our concrete is mixed we will then transport the concrete from the mixing trailer to the extruding machine. We then hand shovel the cement into the machine, and the machine extrudes the continuous curb. Also, during the extrusion process you will notice that we will integrate 2 small cables into the curb itself - this is a  very important step - especially in cold climates! This will increase the strength of your curb by 1400 psi, and will also ensure that the curb will not separate or rotate at the control joints.

4. Finishing: Once the curb is extruded, we will then start the finishing touches with hand trowels and other tools. At this time the Color Hardener will be applied, along with the Release Agent. We will then apply the pattern to the curb and also cut control joints every 3 or 4 feet. At the end of the day, after we have finished cleaning up the job site and our machines, we will then spray off the excess release agent and seal your curb with a glossy sealer that also offers UV protection to keep your curb from fading. The finishing techniques on your curb may vary according to the options you have chosen for your curb.
